Training Philosophies 
David Leadbetter's theories and philosophies on the golf swing are based on an effective method that is fundamentally simple and easy to repeat. The cornerstone to this idea is in developing the correct co-ordination of all the muscles used in the swing motion to promote efficiency and consistency of movement.

The theory of cause and effect is a vital part of any DLGA instructor's fault-finding technique. In detecting and then eliminating the original and most destructive fault in the swing (the cause), other related faults (the effects) are rectified as a consequence. Through development of a range of practice drills and training aids which are skilfully applied to the needs of each individual student, the benefits and improvement gained from a David Leadbetter Instructional program continue long after its completion.

The David Leadbetter Golf Instructor Certification Process

• Each Certified Instructor must successfully complete a stringent and extensive training program
• This training program assures the utmost level of consistency for all David Leadbetter Certified Instructors
• Our instructors must complete a highly detailed training program, along with a specialized workbook
• This highly sophisticated in-house manual has a variety of rigorous tasks to train and test trainees on their competence and knowledge of David Leadbetter’s teaching philosophy
• Each instructor is tested in several ways to evaluate, recognize, and apply the appropriate knowledge to each student
• The training process itself takes approximately one year to complete under the guidance of David Leadbetter and the Worldwide Director of Certification
• A yearly re-certification is also required
• All Leadbetter instructors receive copies of lessons given by David Leadbetter as well as presentations regarding current trends, techniques, and drills used by David and his teaching staff at his headquarters
• Each instructor, new or senior level, visits ChampionsGate annually to improve and refresh their teaching skills by observing and assisting David Leadbetter and his senior instructors
